Selvedge Wool Shawl Shirt
We've been completely knocked out by this new brand, Harago, out of India. Their pieces are a mix of collection pieces and beautiful one-offs. This is the latter.
This piece is a 100% wool, fashioned from a grandad shawl from circa 1990. The wool was handwoven on a vintage loom, with a purple selvage line, visible on the hem, at the base of the cuff, on the tips of the collar, and lining the double chest pockets. The base color is a beauty, a rich peaty brown that wears like a neutral and will pair with everything. The fabric is lightweight but still warm and soft and is a perfect mid-layer during the winter and spring. Slightly boxy fit - cut like a typical camp shirt with a spread collar, straight hem, boxy fit and cuffs sans button closure. The piece fits like a boxy medium.
