One of the coolest fabrics we've ever come across, full stop. Permit us a minute - eri silk (or peace silk/vegan silk/Assam silk) is a fabric that's truly rare, extremely time-consuming to spin, and not often exported. The silkworms are left to hatch - not killed like traditional silk - before the cocoons are boiled before spinning. Also unlike traditional silk, the silk doesn't come off in one continuous filament, but must be picked apart by hand, resulting in a fabric that has varying sizes and thicknesses with a ton of natural slub. Harago has opted to leave it undyed to show off the natural character of the fabric.
And the garment? Holy heck. The fabric is unlike any silk we've felt - lightweight but insulating, lofty but cooling, with a texture more akin to woven cashmere with no itch. These are cut as a camp shirt that's easy to layer or wear on its own - 5-button closure (with real mother of pearl), double flap pockets and a straight hem with spread collar. Model is 5'8" and 150 lbs and wears a small for slightly oversized fit.
We love the versatility of Harago's blouson shape - easy and comfortable with a slight drop to the shoulder - but structured enough to create that perfect line. These are cut from a beautiful, handwoven camel-colored wool with a ton of depth to the color (that appears slightly different in different lights), and lined in a striped, handwoven cotton linen fabric that you may recognize from Harago's shorts. Real horn buttons, spread collar, and two chest pockets. Model is 5'8" and 150 lbs and wears a small.
We wanted to create the ultimate dress up/dress down pants in this partnership with Harago. We saw this vintage fabric - a super thick, yet very plus and soft handwoven wool in a cream herringbone for a perfect winter white pant. The fabric is heavy enough to be worn in the depths of winter, but still breathable and comfortable for the fall with the handwoven wool. The fabric is more akin to a suiting pant, but cut like a sweat, with a wide leg, two pockets, and a drawstring. True to size. Model is 5'8" and 150 lbs and wears a small.

The fabric is a lovely grey and black wool with flecking. Large spread collar, real horn buttons, adjustable cuffs, two large flap pockets and one interior pocket. Lined in cotton muslin. True to size but relaxed. Model is 5'8" and 150 lbs and wears a medium.
A custom piece for the shop in a beautiful, handwoven herringbone wool. These are a fairly lightweight piece - great for tossing over a suit and wearing all fall long, with a classy vibe to 'em. The fabric is a greenish grey handwoven wool in a large-scale herringbone. Large spread collar, real horn buttons, adjustable cuffs, two large flap pockets and one interior pocket. Lined in cotton muslin. True to size but relaxed. Model is 5'8" and 150 lbs and wears a medium.
This piece is damn near everything we love about clothing here at Vestis. When Harsh from Harago showed us this we knew we had to make something from it, and their versatile blouson shape was perfect. They're cut like a vintage cop jacket - big 70s-inspired collar, 5-button closure, straight hem, two large pockets on the hip and horn buttons, lined in handwoven cotton muslin with one interior pocket. And this color! They're a naturally dyed, handwoven wool in that unique shade known as umber (or maybe a brownish/reddish taupe) that looks slightly different depending on the lighting. Either way, it's a natural pairing with almost anything you throw at it, and the handwoven wool moves around like a dream - no starchiness or stiffness here, just softness. These are cut slightly boxy with a drop shoulder - model is 5'8" and 150 lbs and wears a small for a more fitted look.
One-off blouson jacket in real deal patchwork jacket made from handspun and handwoven fabric remnants. 1 of 1 piece with cream, brown and mocha swatches cut into a jacket, complete with hand embroidery and kantha repairs. Model is 5'8" and 150 lbs and wears the medium (we only have 1!).
A custom piece for Vestis that the fabric wizards at Harago created for us! This is their 100% khadi cotton - super thick but loosely woven thread for a great drape and breathability - cut into a versatile Baracuta-style shape. These are naturally dyed a brick red with slightly color variations, with large vertical and horizontal stripes through the body and hem. Large, spared collar, brass hardware, one large chest pocket and a straight hem. True to size fit. Model is 5'8" and 150 lbs and wears a medium.
Exactly the kind of thing we love about working with a small, emerging brand - this piece started as a conversation between Vestis , and Harago after seeing the combination of their beautiful fabrics, and the incredible embroidery artisans in India are capable of. This was an exclusive piece for the shop borne from that. These are cut from a lovely yarn-dyed indigo fabric.
We wanted to avoid the stiff, very dark blue overdye that often comes with indigo dyeing, opting instead for a fabric that's soft, pliable and comfortable right out of the gate. This cut is remarkably versatile - slightly fitted but still easy to layer, with a rounded hem that makes it easy to tuck in or leave out. Real deal mother of pearl buttons too. And finally, they're finished with a stark white running stitch around the collar, cuffs, hem, and pockets. As these fade with time and the indigo bleeds onto the stitching, they'll become uniquely yours. Model is 5'8" and 150 lbs and wears a medium for layering.
Harago puts their own spin on the US WWII Naval pullover to stunning effect. These are cut from a lovely, handwoven selvedge denim - very soft and pliable with just a hint of slub. They're cut as a pullover style with a one-button closure in a rad mother of pearl with a capri collar and throat latch. Selvedge details on the pocket, hem, and cuff. The fit is nice and relaxed with a drop shoulder - perfect for throwing on over your favorite tee - and is super easy to style. Model is 5'8" and 150 lbs and wears a medium.
Let's call this what it is - the world's nicest drug rug from Harago - but this isn't your typical head shop fare by a long shot. This fabric is unreal - a handwoven and handspun 100% cotton khadi cloth that's pleasantly thick but still very pliable with a wonderful drape. This is going to break in wonderfully and yield an extremely soft cloth much like a thicker version of your favorite flannel, albeit done in a beautiful, multi-stripe print with red, orange and purple stripes against a white/red herringbone base. What really sets this apart in a truly WTF moment is that Italian-inspired Capri collar that gives the piece a nice Continental elegance sorely missing from this style. Model is 5'8" and 150 lbs and wears a medium for a slightly boxy oversize fit that's perfect for layering.
